Boxyt: party in a box

A Shopify D2C brand I launched under Phatse, where customers built a party kit in one order.

The idea

Phatse customers kept telling us the same thing: parties need many small things (poppers, hats, foil, balloons) and finding them in one place was a hassle. Boxyt let customers customise a party box and get everything in one order.

What I built

I set up the whole Shopify store myself, including the products and bundles, discounts, a loyalty programme and a cart order bar through Shopify apps, Razorpay for payments, and customer emails.

Campaigns and emails

I ran customer email campaigns in Mailchimp and Sendinblue (now Brevo), for both Boxyt and Phatse. Campaigns used the same ideas as at Phatse: a welcome message, reminders to come back, and offers tied to the loyalty programme.

Pricing, discounts and loyalty

A party box is a one-off purchase for most customers, so repeat orders do not happen on their own. The loyalty programme and discounts were my way of giving customers a reason to come back for the next party.

What it taught me

Running a store end to end showed me how pricing, discounts, checkout and email work together, and why repeat purchases matter more than the first order. It gave me hands-on Shopify, Mailchimp and Sendinblue experience that I use in every product role since.
